About Us

Hi, we're Morgan and Teresa, co-founders of Still Frame Stories.

We have been best friends for over 20 years (see our 9th grade Halloween costumes below) and now live a couple of blocks apart in New York. In some ways, we’ve been working towards this business our whole lives, but the concept officially took shape in October 2023.

We always loved journaling, but struggled to find an existing journal that truly resonated with us. The idea of a picture prompt journal came to us while we were watching one of our favorite TV shows and we started discussing the motives of each character and why they may be behaving a certain way. We realized that delving deeper into a world of realistic and relatable characters was not only cathartic, but a fun and unique way to engage in journaling. And this is when 'Still Frame Stories' was born.

We tested the concept ourselves, each responding to the same painting of a girl sitting alone on the subway - titled 'Q Train' by Nigel Van Wieck. We were intrigued at how different our interpretations were of Nigel's artwork, and were so delighted he was onboard to be featured our journal. Soon after, we also had the honor of engaging artists Owen Rival, Jack Vettriano, and Joe Bednarski, altogether creating a beautiful Volume I.

Our journal is meant to be whatever you make of it, no one will be deducting points for grammar or spelling errors. How you engage with the artwork is completely up to you!
